UniversalTypes help buyers finding the product they need. Every search - in one of many possible channels - begins with requirements. What properties does a product need to have to support the task at hand? With UniversalTypes customers find products that fulfill their requirements instead of checking on a product by product basis whether the product does what they need. That is why UniversalTypes describe product attributes and features in a way that is neutral and independent of suppliers or manufacturers.
UniversalTypes
This level forms the overarching structure and order of the underlying attributes.
MainTypes
MainTypes are central to the structure. MainTypes can either be attributes themselves (for example "Weight (packed)" or serve as a grouping level for underlying SubType level attributes.
SubTypes
The majority of attributes reside on this level.
ExtraTypes
ExtraTypes describe further attibutes and properties that either exist or do not exist using a binary datatype.
